I have no picture to post because we can’t catch him doing it! For the last two days, we walk in to find Jake sitting up in his crib! I have set up ’round the clock surveillance. We will get film on this on folks! Stay tuned!!!

I am 38, and I learn something from the Grandpa’s every single week! I can not imagine the education Jake is going to have by the time he’s 18!

Example: Tonight I learned that we can send “silly” messages on helium balloons. You just fill up the balloon, attach your message, and let if fly into the Universe! Who knows where they will land, and who will receive them!?

I won’t tell you what his message was…:)

 

Real men ride pink plastic cars!

Yes, it’s true! The remants from Jake’s diaper alone were enough to clog our toilet tonight! Damn you carrots and peas! Now there’s two heavy-hitters in the house!:)

Speaking of good food, we had the most incredible dinner with friends tonight! Just when I thought I was a good cook, we ate at their house. Now I’m left with a full belly, an intense yearning to learn how to sear meat, and half a food boner! Thanks J&J!!!

I’ve mentioned in the past that my wife is so environmentally conscious that she actually traps her farts in  mason jars and let’s them dissipate, rather then letting them into the Ozone. That may have been a slight exaggeration.

I give her a hard time about all her methods of being green, going organic, eating clean…but I know she’s right about all of it. I just do it to jack with her:) She’s a pretty smart woman. And one of the healthiest people I know.

Mama J works very hard to make sure Jake gets nothing but the most natural, healthy foods possible. How can you be so sure, you ask? Because she makes all of it herself!

It’s a great system actually. She uses a Food Mill, and grinds all organic fruits and veggies like carrots, squash, apples, pears, etc. and freezes them into ice cubes. She stores the cubes in plastic bags. When you’re ready to feast, just thaw a cube, and BAM! Time to eat!

A jar of organic baby food costs ~$1.00. You can make 16 carrot cubes in one ice tray for the cost of a bag of carrots. The money you save is huge!

I have to give my wife props for making the commitment to start the healthiest foundation possible for Jake, and all the time and effort that entails.

Today I started a book entitled ‘The Power of Positive Thinking’, by Norman Vincent Peale. If you’re a fan of ‘The Secret’, you will love this book!

I tend to be a “Negative Nancy”, or a “Debbie Downer” at times. I think that comes from a few years of negative thinking. Sometimes I tend to doom things to fail before I’ve even tried them. I think that’s called “being a bit of a pussy”.

This book, like many others, teaches that an abrupt shift in the way you think can change your life! A friend posted a quote recently that basically sums up the book. “Faith is putting your trust in the good, while fear is putting your trust in the bad.”

Your thoughts can make you miserable, or they can make you unstoppable.

What attitude do I want to impose on my boy? You guessed it! I’ll keep reading…:)

Jake is changing right before our very eyes! Speaking of eyes, it looks like his have decided to stay brown. Look out Johnny Depp!

Next, his cry has gotten big! When Jake let’s rip, I swear a mouse trap just snapped on his nuts! It’s startling!

Tonight, Jake and I laughed for ten minutes playing with a pacifier. Sometimes, as new parents, we worry about doing every single little thing right, and forget to just have fun. Tonight, we just had fun. He’s a good kid:)

He got his mama’s eyes, and his daddy’s rolls:)

At least I didn’t bite…this time:)

Jake is developing quite a little grip. Today from down the hall, I heard his mom yell, “OUCH! Enough with the titty-twisters, just drink your milk!!!” Those poor nips…

Jake’s cousin had his first birthday party today! It was a great preview of what to expect “gift wise” for Jakey’s big day. The realization: We need way more frickin’ closet space!!!

Jake went to his first fair today. He had a chance to see horsies, duckies, piggies, and even some race cars! I know that sounds like an excellent photo opportunity, but this is the only picture I took! Look at set on that sheep!!!
